Biography

 My name is Mariela Gencheva Geneva-Popova and I was born on April 18, 1966 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. I graduated Medicine at the Medical University - Plovdiv in 1991 and started working in the Infectious Diseases Department of Pazardzhik, Bulgaria. Since 1995 I have been working at the Medical University - Plovdiv, first as a doctoral student, then as an assistant, since 2014 I have been an associate professor. I have acquired 3 specialties - Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Rheumatology. I have over 100 publications in Bulgarian and foreign journals. I have a scientific interest in the field of rheumatology, immunology, immunopathology and pharmacology. I am a member of the Bulgarian Society of Rheumatology, the Bulgarian Society of Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis, EULAR and others.
