Dr. Michael Kreuzer has been full Professor of Animal Nutrition in the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Department of Environmental Systems Science since October 1994. He graduated in Agricultural Sciences at the Technical University of Munich. He obtained his doctorate in 1984, completed his habilitation in 1988 both at the Institute of Nutritional Physiology of the Technical University of Munich. His doctoral thesis was awarded the Thurn and Taxis Prize, and his habilitation thesis won the Henneberg Lehmann Prize. In 1991 he was appointed Professor of 'Quality of Animal-Source Foods' at the University of Goettingen. He was a board member of the German 'Society of Nutrition Physiology' from 2004-2008 and is member of the 'Society of Animal Breeding Science'. He is the secretary of the International Scientific Committee of the regular international 'Symposia on Energy and Protein Metabolism and Nutrition'. He was organizer of the 2nd international congress on 'Greenhouse Gases in Animal Agriculture' which took place in 2005.
