Abstract:

The presentation will be clarifying the misconceptions that are often perceived in the field of orthodontics. The topics that will be discussed are based on current knowledge and new cutting edge technologies. It adheres to the general societal values by taking into consideration familial values and concerns. The presentation will begin by defining the basics of orthodontics. It will then explore the availablediagnostic measuresand treatment plans. It will concentrate on the proper tools and materials that are used in the process, as well as the approximate duration periods for specific treatments. It will further examine the multidisciplinary approaches that involve: Dental, ENT, pediatrics, psychological well-being and coordination of the sciences of orthophonics and orthodontics for good results. This presentation is also discuss appropriate ages for orthodontic treatment. A comparison between specific cases will be made to address certain situation in which wisdom teeth extraction is necessary versus when it is not. Moreover, the overall expense of such treatments will be discussed.
