Biography

Moved to UAE in 200 and work as neonatologist in Al Corncihe hospital for two years I completed a six month Neonatal-Perinatal Fellowship at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2010. After this period, I completed a three years Neonatal Perinatal Fellowship at the University of Manitoba in 2014 that was joined with a three years of pediatric transport fellowship before I Joined my current job as senior specialist in neonatology I WRHA and as consultant pediatrician for newborn service in St Boniface Hospital. I completed a pilot study called ECALMIST and successfully demonstrated the use of a vascular catheter in administering minimally invasive, large volume surfactant (BLES) to preterm infants with RDS who are under 35 weeks. I am also currently conducting a multicenter-multinational RCT, comparing ECALMIST and InSurE techniques in preterm infants with RDS who are less than 32 weeks. I was given the opportunity to design a tube called MIST, for the purpose of administering minimally invasive surfactant therapy, which is now filed as a patent with the University of Manitoba. I conducted a Cochrane review comparing HFJV to HFOV in preterm infants less than 32 weeks with Pulmonary Dysfunction through collaboration with a group of researchers from Canada and Australia.
