Biography

Raghavendra Amachawadi is working as a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Veterinary Pathology and Pathobiology at Kansas State University. His research is aimed at developing novel intervention strategies towards controlling antibiotic resistance in food animal production system. He mainly focus on developing techniques to cure plasmids and prevent antibiotic resistant infections caused by enterococci. He is interested in understanding the mechanisms involved in the propagation and dissemination of multidrug resistant enterococci originated from cattle and swine fed diets supplemented with heavy metals (copper and zinc) and other feed grade antimicrobials.
