Biography

Ren graduated from medical school in Western China University of Medical Science and completed residency training in the Beijing Medical University. Later, as an attending physician, he also participated in clinical trials for chemotherapy and photodynamic therapy for advanced gastric cancer.In 1996, Ping Ren received his Ph.D. in biomedicine from the Medical College of Ohio. After graduated, Ren pursued a fellowship in the Institute of Heart, Blood, and Lung, National Institutes of Health from 1999-2005. His clinical research was involved in the study of alteration of the gene expression profile in alveolar macrophages of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. In 2005, Ren was selected as a bioinformatics at the SAIC-Frederic, where he used medicine, immunology, statistic, and bioinformatics to analyze microarray data from the clinical trial of immunotherapy in HIV infected patients Dr. Ren has published over 20 research articles in peer reviewed journals and presented many research findings at national and international conferences.
