Biography

Dr. Liu Xudong graduated in hepatology from 3rd hospital affiliated to Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou (China). I served as associated professor of hepatology at Guangxi University of Chinese medicine from 2009 to now. I was director of Liver Disease Department at the Ruikang hospital Affiliated to Guangxi University of Chinese medicine, and I was the Standing Committee of Liver Disease Units at Guangxi Association of Integrative Medicine and the committee of Internal Medicine Units at Guangxi Chinese Internal Medicine Society.

Research Interest

Dr. Liu Xudong research interests are hepatitis virus and microbiology associated with liver disease. I was principal investigator or co-author of original papers reporting a possible novel mechanism that indicates how CpG DNA of Hepatitis B virus may contribute to the malignant transformation of benign liver cells. I also presented in an original paper that bacteria may be ignored by immune systems and directly promote adhesion and invasion of hepatoma cells through lipopolysaccharide. A ongoing study, supported by Guangxi Natural Science Funds, is about the affect of hepatitis B virus surface antigen on liver fibrosis.
