Biography

Khalid Ali, MBBS, FRCP, MD, is a senior lecturer in Geriatrics at BSMS and is the lead for Research into Ageing in Surrey and Sussex, part of the Surrey and Sussex Comprehensive Local research Network. He is also a member of the “Rehabilitation after Stroke Guidelines” Development Group (GDG): a joint document that is commissioned by the RCP- London and NICE.  He is also the representative from Surrey and Sussex in the South East of England Stroke Research Network (SE-SRN) with several stroke-related research trials as a Principal investigator.  His other duties include being the academic secretary for the Cardiovascular Section of the British Geriatrics Society (CVS-BGS) as well as a reviewer for the BMJ, the Student BMJ, Age and Ageing, European Journal of Neurology, Dysphagia, International Journal of Nutritional Health and Ageing, Vascular risk and health management, QJM. His research activities include stroke, hypertension, vascular compliance and probiotics.
