Dr. Sean Leng is a board certified geriatrician and Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He also obtained a Ph.D. in molecular virology and immunology at Texas A&M University Health Science Center, after which he completed a research fellowship in cytokinology and immunology at Yale University School of Medicine. In addition to clinical care provided for older patients, Dr. Leng conducts translational aging research in his laboratory focusing on age-related immunosenescence and its potential causes and consequences, including inflammation and immune remodulation in the geriatric syndrome of frailty, influenza immunization, chronic CMV infection, and HIV and aging. He has also developed major international collaborative initiatives with China in geriatrics and gerontology.
