Biography

Dr. Joo C Tong is a Senior Scientist at the Institute of High Performance Computing, A*STAR, Singapore. He is concurrently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemistry, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Prior to this, he was the pioneering Research Manager of SAP Research Singapore in charge of ramping up the new R&D headquarters for the APJ region in Singapore. He was the youngest and only Asian on the inagural Senior Innovation Advisory Board of Pfizer, the worlds largest research-based pharmaceutical company, New York, USA, providing advice to the Executive Leadership Team. He is recipient of over 20 scientific and technical awards, including the MIT TR35 Award (2008) and the Singapore Youth Award (Science and Technology) 2009, and honored by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader in 2012.
