				 Acinetobacter baumannii has been identified by Infectious Diseases Society of America as one of the six pathogens that cause majority of hospital infections. Carbapenems are the most effective β-lactam antibiotics that are routinely prescribed by clinicians to patients infected with A. baumannii. Emergence of resistance against carbapenem makes it difficult to treat A. baumannii and is therefore a threat to public health. Therefore it is very important to find a suitable alternative to the carbapenem. In the present work we have tried to establish silver nanomaterial as an alternative to carbapenem resistant strain of Acinetobacter baumannii. Silver nanoparticles have been prepared without aggregation by a modified chemical reduction method; using ethylene glycol mono methyl ether as solvent and PVP as capping agent.. View More»
