Biography
Joseph J. Ryan is former chair of the Department of Psychological Science and is currently emeritus professor, University of Central Missouri. Their most recent publications (2021) are 'Performance of patients with relapsing-remitting Multiple Sclerosis on the Wechsler Memory Scale-Fourth Edition (WMS-IV)' and 'Reliabilities of WMS-IV discrepancy scores for subtests, indexes, and selected WAIS-IV composites.'
Research Interest
Ryan is an active researcher (275 publications, 100 abstracts, and 180 professional presentations) and has enjoyed some success in obtaining grant funding. He has served on the editorial boards of professional publications including: Archives of Clinical Neuropsychology, The Clinical Neuropsychologist, and Journal of Psychoeducational Assessment. He is currently on the editorial boards of Applied Neuropsychology: Child and Applied Neuropsychology: Adult. He also established the Jerome M. Sattler Endowment (2002) and the Joseph J. Ryan Scholarship (2009) to financially support student research and educational expenses. Currently, his research activities focus on the assessment of intelligence and applied neuropsychology. In 2009 he published a text with his mentor, Jerome M. Sattler, entitled Assessment with the WAIS-IV.
