Professor & Manager National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development Nigeria

Biography
He have over the years created an understanding of the molecular behavior of polymeric materials and the compaction properties of pharmaceutical powders, excipients and active pharmaceutical ingredients including the physics/mechanics of drug formulation using these substances. He have conducted several research projects in herbal pharmacotherapy, herbal formulation, compaction characteristics of pharmaceutical powders, and excipient characterization. His expertise focuses on the development of solid oral dose formulations for immediate- and sustained – release applications and the physics of polymer- polymer and polymer-drug interactions. He have expertise in molecular solid state characterization and application of natural polymers in nanomedicine for the target delivery of challenging conventional drugs such as peptides/proteins, insoluble bioactive agents and other macro molecules. He coordinate intellectual property matters at my Institute. I was among the only five candidates from across the globe whose proposals won the 2010 JNCASR-CCSTDS fellowship to India, and also one of the only two Nigerians selected for the prestigious CV Raman fellowship to India, 2011 following a competitive proposal. His current research interest is in the area of Nanobiotechnology; chemical and biological synthesis of functionalized nanomaterials and their polymer bionanocomposites as well as the application of these devices in target drug delivery with specific interest in malaria, tuberculosis and cancer.
