Biography
Frans Verhey is a neuropsychiatrist, and from 2001 appointed as a professor of Old Age Psychiatry/ Neuropsychiatry at the University Hospital of Maastricht. He there started the first Dutch memory clinic in 1986. He is the director of the Alzheimer Center Limburg. He is board member of the European AD Consortium, INTERDEM (on early interventions in dementia), the International Psychogeriatric Association, and of the Cochrane Dementia and Cognitive Impairment Group. He is the project leader of DESCRIPA (Development of Screening Guidelines in Prodromal AD), a large European cohort study on MCI and cognitive decline. He has more than 300 research articles been published in various Journals.
