Biography
Dr. Claude Hughes received his MD in 1980 and PhD in 1981 both from Duke University, North Carolina USA. Currently, his primary role is Executive Director in the Cardiovascular and Metabolic Unit at Quintiles, Inc. with academic appointments as Consulting Professor in Ob-GYN at Duke University, Adjunct Professor in Mathematics at North Carolina State University and Adjunct Professor in Comparative Medicine/Pathology at Wake Forest University. His research has generally addressed the impacts of dietary and environmental hormone-like compounds on development, reproduction and health across the lifespan. He has authored approximately 200 publications including primary research articles, reviews, commentaries, books and book chapters. He currently serves as a member of the Metabolic Diseases Steering Committee of the Biomarkers Consortium. He is a member of the Endocrine Society, Society of Toxicology, Society for the Study of Reproduction, North American Menopause Society, and American Society for Reproductive Medicine.
