Biography
Prof. Anna Lavezzi graduated in Biological Science and Medicine, University of Milan, Italy. Since 1996 she is the Associate Professor of Pathology, University of Milan. Official teacher of Human Genetics and Pathology for the Medicine and Surgery Course of Degree, for numerous Residency Schools, for International PhD Program in Pathology and for the School for technicians of Pathology Anatomy. From 2001to 2004 Chairman of the 1st Residency School in Pathology, University of Milan. Director of the ""Lino Rossi"" Research Center for the study and prevention of the unexpected perinatal death (of the term fetus - stillbirth - and neonatal) and SIDS, University of Milan. Since November 2005, member of the regional centers network to reduce the risk for unexpected perinatal death and SIDS. The research activity (over 280 publications) at first pointed to the cytogenetics, citometry and cell kinetics of the tumors. Then studies have been addressed to the field of the cardiovascular pathology, and predominantly to neuropathology of the sudden infant death and unexplained perinatal death and to the study, in such pathologies, of the gene expression variabilities in the autonomic nervous system. Editor-in-chief of the “Open Biomarkrs Journal” - Guest Editor of the special issue on Degeneration of the “BioMed Research International Journal” -Member of the Editorial Board of the “Journal of Pediatric Biochemistry”
