Biography

Art Teixeira is a Professor in the department of agricultural and biological engineering, University of Florida, USA.  Ha has awarded with a Ph.D degree in food/agricultural engineering from University of Massachusetts in1971. His experience includes various programs, contributions and participation in different events for diverse fields of study. His research interests reflect in his wide range of publications in various national and international journals. Teixeira is a food engineer. As simple as this statement is, it includes the many aspects of engineering, physics, chemistry, and microbiology that Teixeira draws on in his work, the vast range of products and processes that he has addressed during his career, and the many millions of people that his work has affected by assuring consumers of safe, economical food. Teixeira gives a handy definition of his work: making sure that manufacturers always end up with a safe process while preserving quality and at an effective cost
