Dr. Meral Guzey has received her Ph.D. in the field of Biochemistry. This graduate program was combined by two distinguished institutions between Hacettepe Medical School, Ankara, Turkey and University of Wisconsin, Madison, WI, USA (details www.meralguzey.com). Her academic advisor was Prof. Hector DeLuca, who is considered as “The Father of Vitamin D Biochemistry”, fulfilled her early career dream on “Vitamin D Research” at U. Wisconsin at Madison, Madison, WI, USA.
Later, she worked as a scientist for TUB?TAK_MAM, Gebze, Turkey, which gave her possibility to expand her knowledge in the field of Molecular Oncology. She has an extensive postdoctoral experience in the field of cell death program and biomarker research under Drs. Reed, Burnham Institute, La Jolla, CA., USA and Getzenberg, U. Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, PA., USA.
She received her tenure?ship through “Turkish Ministry of Higher Education”, Ankara,Turkey and became Associate Prof. in the field of “Medical Biochemistry”. Her receiving invitation from “Harvard Medical School” as a “Visiting Scientist” under the auspices of NIH gave her unique opportunity to expand her interest in “Precision Medicine” . Prof. G.M. Church, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA., USA has kindly directed and encouraged her interest on “Precision?Personalized Medicine”.
She is serving as an editorial member for “Webmed central and Webmed central?plus”. Presently, Dr. Guzey is working for University of Maryland University College as Adjunct Associate Professor. She has been teaching “Cancer Biology Class” for “Undergraduate Studies” to “Distance Education” for Asia and Europe.
