Professor Carina Maciel Silva-Boghossian has received her PhD in Dentistry from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, during the period of 2006-2010. From 2010 to 2013, she was appointed as Post-Doctoral Fellow at Faculty of Dentistry, Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Currently, she is appointed as Adjunct Professor in the Grande Rio University, where she has been working with undergraduate and graduate dental students. Her research has been focused on periodontal microbiological analysis, epidemiology and risk indicators for periodontal diseases; most recently, she has also being involved in mass spectrometry research of the gingival crevicular fluid proteome. She is serving as an expert Reviewer for journals, besides Oral Health and Dental Management, like Journal of Periodontology, European Journal of Dentistry, Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Research, Brazilian Oral Research, Indian Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology, Brazilian Journal of Microbiology and Clinical Advances in Periodontics. She has authored nineteen international research articles. She is a member of the International Association for Dental Research.
