Abstract:

Aim: Dental implantology is a prosthodontically driven discipline. In order to provide our patients with an implant supported dental restoration that is functional, comfortable and esthetically pleasing, one should have a clear vision of the desired outcome in mind prior to implant placement. Method: This presentation will review, in detail, a step by step approach to reach a successful treatment plan which will meet the treatment goals. Variables which will affect the treatment outcome such as tissue biotype, smile line, and other Prosthodontic concepts will be discussed in detail for single implants, partially edentulous arches, and fully edentulous arches. Result: Additionally, restorative options will be discussed for fixed and removable prostheses. Cement retained vs. screw retained. Locator retained over dentures. Small diameter implants (SDI). Few of the topics which will be discussed. Conclusion: The presentation will be concluded with a review of several complex clinical cases and the thought process of reaching the treatment plan for those cases. drhaidar@westondentistry.com
