Abstract:

This presentation will discuss various treatment modalities in preventive health and public health. Preventive health is often the best way to prevent and treat dental conditions as it relies on the body's natural defenses along with some additional treatment in conjunctive harmony. Being able to treat patients in a cost-effective manner is very important for large population bases especially in developing countries where finances are often a challenge for patients, governments and practitioners. In this presentation, author will discuss fluoride treatments and uses, use of silver diamine fluoride, best practices in pediatric treatment, nitrous oxide use and oral conscious sedation options for pediatric patients. Using evidence-based dentistry, the lecture will focus on allowing the practitioner to leave with an arsenal of alternative treatment options aside from standard restorative and prosthodontics treatment options.
