Abstract:

With the introduction of new surgical techniques, a vast array of options are available per se to conduct various kinds of periodontal hard and soft tissue surgeries. Recently, a novel surgical approach using piezoelectric device has been introduced in the field of periodontology and oral implantology. Piezosurgery technique makes use of ultrasonic vibrations to carry out osteotomy and osteoplasty procedures. The device is utilised to develop positive, physiologic architecture of bone support of the involved teeth. In the implant site preparation, implant removal and bone harvesting, bone grafting and sinus lifts can be done with much ease and less soft tissue trauma. The poster will highlight various sectors of dentistry where piezosurgery device is soon going to be a boon.

Ritu Dahiya her BDS from PDM Dental College and Research Institute Sarai Aurangabad, Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar, Haryana, India. Dr Ritu Dahiya immense interest in propagating the oral health care with dexterity in her hands skills and satisfying patients with her total cooperation in alleviating pain.
