Abstract:

The appearance and color of the teeth is important for smiling for those reason discolorations of teeth exhibit major clinical and esthetical challenges. The nature colour of the teeth is mostly grayish-yellow, grayish-white or yellowish-white and is influenced by a combination of presence of any extrinsic stains and their intrinsic color. This case series presents different conservative techniques to remove or mask discolored anterior teeth caused by various reasons. First patient with fluorosed teeth who was successfully treated with a minimally invasive technique including enamel micro abrasion (6.6% hydrochloric acid slurry with silicon carbide micro?particles, Opalustre, Ultradent Products, South Jordan, USA) followed by in home bleaching (%10 carbamide peroxide, Opalescence, Ultradent Products, South Jordan, USA). Direct composite laminate veneer technique (G-ænial Anterior, GC Corporation, Tokyo, JAPAN) was applied to the second patient with enamel hypoplasia. The walking bleaching technique (35% hydrogen peroxide, Opalescence Endo, Ultradent Products, South Jordan, USA) used for third patient with esthetic problem related to discolouration of nonvital tooth. According to these case reports, using different non-invasive treatments was found to be successful in discolored anterior teeth. This minimally invasive technique is a better option in treatment of dental fluorosis, enamel hypoplasia and non-vital teeth with intrinsic discoloration. gulyildiz@gmail.com
