Abstract:

All-ceramic veneers became an interesting treatment option for the patient offering high esthetic profile with minimal tooth reduction. However, these thin shells are very challenging and require meticulous clinical management and careful laboratory handling in order to produce the required shade and appearance. All-ceramic veneers are required to mask the shade of underlying teeth, provide vital of translucency, resist forces of mastication, and compensate for malpositioningoffront teeth. The presented lecture covers clinical tips and tricks regarding proper diagnosis, chair management, shade management, try in procedure and proper communication with lab. Principles of material selection for each case will be covered. Causes of failure will be briefly addressed and different fabrication and preparation techniques will be addressed. In the hands on session, candidates will train on different types of preparation designs and on positioning of contact areas. Guidelines for pressing and CAD/CAM production techniques will be explained. Outcome of different layering techniques will be demonstrated.
