Abstract:

In December 2019, an outbreak of pneumonia of unknown aetiology emerged in China. A coronavirus was identified as the causative agent and subsequently named COVID-19 by World Health Organization (WHO)(Sohrabi et al.2020). This epidemic has had an impact on dental care, with most federal, regional, and municipal authorities advocating the closure of dental and orthodontic institutions to decrease the risk of infection, while only offering emergency dental and orthodontic care (Isiekwe, I et al., 2021). Aim of the study: This study aimed to systematically assess the challenges faced by orthodontic patients during the COVID-19 pandemic and its effect on their treatment.
