Abstract:

Recycling is basically the process of collecting and processing materials that would otherwise be thrown away as trash and manufacture them into a new product. Recycling covers recovery and reprocessing of waste materials for use in new product. The basic phases in recycling are the collection of waste materials, their manufacturing or processing into new products and the purchase of those products which may themselves be recycling. Typical materials that are recycle includes, steel, iron, aluminum cans, glass bottle, paper wood and plastics. In the past years, Ghana has achieved tremendous benefits from the impact of recycling. Among the benefits includes, recycling reduces the pollution of water, air and land resulting from waste pollution. In addition, recycling has also reduced the quantities of solid waste deposited in landfills which has increasingly been expensive. Over the past decades, recycling has reduced cost of production in most manufacturing and processing industry due to the reuse in the manufacturing process. Moreover, recycling has created many opportunities and jobs in the manufacturing and process industry. According to the 2021 report released by the Ministry of Environment, recycling has reduces unemployment to about 20% and has help to keep the environment safe and clean. There is no doubt that recycling has contributed immensely too much economy and Ghana is no exception.

Biography :

Yakubu Muntaka Musah is an Entrepreneur, a Researcher. He did his MBA in petroleum accounting and finance from University of Professional Studies, Accra and currently the Director at YM Ventures. As a graduate and researcher, he is currently pursuing his PhD Program in Energy Economics. He has attended many conferences all over the world and wishes to give his best at every stage. Over the years, team work and fact finding has been his hall mark and he wish to continue with it. His hobbies have been reading and swimming.
