Biography

Dr. Faghri is a professor in the Department of Allied Health Sciences, Centre for Environmental Health and Health Promotion as well as in Biomedical Engineering Program, School of Engineering, and Department of Community Medicine and Health Care, School of Medicine, University of Connecticut. She is also on the core faculty for PhD program in Public health in Social and Behavioural Health concentration at the Centre for Public Health and Health policy. Professor Faghri is also a Director of the Centre for Environmental Health and Health Promotion in the Department of Allied Health Sciences. She is having an excellent professional background having more than 30 years of excellence experience in her field. She has been honoured & awarded several times. She is also a member in different organisations. She is also having more than 30 grants and funds on her name. She had two patents too. She is an editor & writer of different books and author of more than 100 publications in the form of research article, review article, survey reports, conference proceedings etc. She actively took part in each and every conference.

Research Interest

Professor Pouran Faghri is a medical doctor and an exercise physiologist with expertise in health promotion, wellness, disease, and disability prevention for healthy individuals as well as neurologically impaired and those with chronic conditions and elderly. Dr. Faghri’s areas of interest are: work-site health promotion programs (design/intervention/evaluation), community health promotion programs (design/intervention/evaluation), health related behavior, intervention strategies, health promotion and secondary disability prevention (neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, and physiological) in disabled and elderly populations, and evaluation of social determinant of health, self-care, self awareness, and decision making strategies under uncertain or distributed environments. Dr. Faghri has joint appointments with the Biomedical Engineering Program and the Department of Community Medicine and Health Care at the University of Connecticut Health Center. Dr. Faghri’s research has been continuously funded by federal and private organizations. She has more than 100 publications in archival journals and conference proceedings, and she has presented her research at national and international conferences. Presently, she serves on the editorial boards of many prestigious journals including Clinical Kinesiology, Clinical Rehabilitation, IEEE Transaction in Biology and Medicine, and Journal of Neuroengineering and Rehabilitation. She is also a primary grant reviewer for the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR), Paralyze Veteran of America, Spinal Cord Injury Foundation, Canadian Institute of Health Research (CIHR), and U.S. Civilian Research and Development Foundation.

Biography

Prof. (Dr.) Renata Dobrila is presently working as Head of Department for Radiotherapy and Oncology, Clinical Hospital Centre Rijeka and Professor of Internal Medicine on School of Medicine, University of Rijeka, Croatia. Master of science acchieved in 1987, Specialist of Internal medicine 1995, PhD 1999, Assistant Professor 2003, Medical Oncologist subspecialization 2005 and Professor 2009 During education and careear development participated in numerous international courses, including Zagreb, Boston, Miami, New York, Chicago. In the same time participated as international speaker on Postgraduate courses related to oncology, chemotherapy and pain management in Moscow, Hong Kong, Rovingno and as International Invited speaker in Vienna, Chicago, Moscow, Bucharest, Philadelphia, Athenes, Sarajevo, Bangkok. All together more than 50 participation that covered various aspects of research and management of oncologic patients. Results of work presented in over 50 international publications and 10 books. Involved in several projects sponsored by Croatian Ministry of Health. Member of numerous International and National organizations, including IASGO, MASCC, ASCO, ESMO, EACR and vicepresident of Croatian Medical Oncology Society.

Biography

Dr. Hideto Oishi is a general surgeon based in Japan. In 1987, he started practicing medicine in the Department of Surgery of Tokyo Women's Medical University (TWMU) and received Ph.D. in Medical Science at TWMU with a research topic: Relationship between colonic diverticulosis and peristalsis. From 2006, he was Senior Lecturer and Division Chief of Department of Gastroenterological Surgery of Yachiyo Medical Center of TWMU. In 2016 he became Chief of Department of Surgery at National Hospital Organization Murayama Medical Center in Tokyo, Japan.
