Biography

 Dr. Zhong Zheng received his PhDfrom Department of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.Additionally, he received postdoctoral training from the Department of Surgery at USC, theDepartment of Orthopaedic Surgeryat UCLA,and the School of Dentistryat UCLA.He currently is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the UCLA School of Dentistry and has been extensively engaged in research on developing functional biomaterials with applications for tissue engineering. He has been committed to using fibromodulin (FMOD) to manage skin wound healing processes, and to using silver nanoparticle-based materials to improve orthopaedic and orthodonticsurgeries. Currently, Dr. Zheng is focused on developing cell-based regenerative medicines for musculoskeletal tissue engineering. Dr. Zheng is an author of 23 peer-reviewed publications, and is also involved as an active reviewer for many current scientific journals, such as Biomaterials, Tissue Engineering, Metabolic Engineering, Journal of Biomedical of Materials Research, et al.
