Biography

 Dr. Vineet Dhar received his dental degree from the University of Pune, India in 1995.
Upon completion of his BDS, he worked as a Lecturer in Pediatric Dentistry and was
involved in teaching dental students, treating children and rotational emergency duties
with 12 hours day and night shifts. He received his Masters Degree in Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry at Manipal Academy of Higher Education in 1999. During this program he submitted his library dissertation on `Child Abuse and Neglect’ and main thesis on ` Comparative evaluation of two new pit and fissure sealants using invasive and non-invasive techniques-an in vitro study’. On completion of MDS he worked in a Rajasthan University of Health Sciences affiliated dental school for ten years and rose to the rank of Professor fulfilling the norms laid down by Dental Council of India. He also
served the Indian Dental Association at various levels and was elected President of Udaipur Branch twice. Since 2006 he has been also serving as the editor of Journal of Indian Dental Association, Rajasthan Branch. He also did his training in Clinical Research and Post Graduate Diploma in Hospital and Health Care Management from Symbiosis, Pune. He submitted a project on `Biomedical Waste Management’ as a part of his management program. In 2009, he completed his PhD in `Cariology and its Prevention in Pediatric Dentistry’. He has been involved in pre and post-doctoral teaching since 1995 and also has a number of presentations and publications to his
credit. He joined the University of Maryland as full time faculty in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry in November, 2009. Recently he received a Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry from University of Maryland, School of Dentistry. His current interests are in caries and its prevention in the underserved population and use of technology in making dentistry easier for children!
