Biography

Born on 24th June 1956 at Surat in Gujarat. Father: A Radiologist at Surat Dr V.G Udapudi Mother: A home Maker Mrs Kashibai V Udapudi One Sister who is presently at Jakarta as her husband is a CEO with GMR Two brothers, eldest at Surat a Radiologist running his private clinic The younger is a Prof of Orthopedics at J.N.Medical College, Belgaum, Karnataka. Schooling done at Lourdes Convent School, Surat. For further education moved to Belgaum, did my B.Sc in Zoology and M.Sc in Entomology Then did my law at Belgaum from B.V.Bellad Law College and my LL.M from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Completed my Ph.D from Veera Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, on the topic “Achieving Sustainable Development with Human Rights”. It touched upon Environmental issues, Sustainable development, CBD and TRIPs, Human Rights. My teaching career spans from 1991 to this day as lecturer, Reader, Associate Professor and Presently working with Gujarat National Law University as Professor of Law handling subjects like Environmental Law for UG and IPR especially Patent, Transfer of Technology and International institutions and IPR..

Environmental Law, Sustainable Development, Intellectual Property Law Special emphasis on Patent Law and Bio Technology.
