Biography
Dr.Sami Nazzal is a faculty member in the Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences,The University of Louisiana at Monroe, USA. He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, Amarillo, TX. Currently, he is an assistant professor of pharmaceutics. He has several patents to his credit and has published more than thirty peer-reviewed papers, and more than seventy abstracts at regional and national conferences. He has industry and teaching experience of more than eight years. He served as a member of several organizations including the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Also, he served as a reviewer on several awards and grant review panels and as a reviewer of peer-reviewed journals in the area of pharmaceutics, nanotechnology, and drug delivery. He received several grants and awards including the Nutramax Research Achievement Award.
Research Interest
Drug product and process optimization using statistical design of experiment (DOE), formulation development of solid immediate and controlled release, and liquid dosage forms, including self-emulsified drug delivery systems, targeted drug delivery and therapy utilizing nanotechnologies with emphasis on lipid nanoparticles.
