Biography

Professor Ru-Band Lu graduated from National Defense Medical center, Taiwan in 1972. He became clinical fellowship of psyphamachology in Baylor Medical College, Huston, Texas, USA between 1981 and 1982 and he got clinical psyphamachologist in US. He became a professor of Psychiatry at National Defense Medical Center in 1989. Since 1992 to 1993, he was a visiting research scientist in Human Genetics at Yale University, New Haven, CT, USA. From 2003 to 2009, he was the director of the Institute of Behavioral Medicine and the chair man of the Department of Psychiatry, National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan as well as a distinguished professor from 2005 to now. Dr. Lu was elected to the presidency of the Taiwanese Psychiatry Association from 2003 to 2005. He also got a reward as an outstanding researcher in basic medicine of National Cheng Kung University, College of Medicine in 2006 and outstanding award of the Taiwanese Society of Psychiatry in 2007. He finds several new treatments and has got the patent of off-label drugs new mechanism to build up the new model to treat several major mental disorders and he has published more than three hundred and thirty research articles in the past years.
