Biography

Received his B. Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay in 1983, the M. Tech. degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur in 1985, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Arizona State University in 1988. His Ph.D. research involved analytic modeling of ultrafast relaxation in photoexcited quantum wells. He was a Post Doctoral Fellow at Arizona State University form 1988-1989. He is currently a Professor at Old Dominion University. His interests include the physics of ultrafast phenomena, Monte Carlo modeling for device applications, and bio-electrics.

Research Interest

Modeling and simulation of electronic devices and semiconductor processing for the III-V, III-N, SiC and Si material systems, gas discharge phenomena, and bio- electrics. His work includes Monte Carlo simulations of high-field transport and Ultrafast phenomena in bulk semiconductors and quantum-well devices, modeling for opto-electronics and ultrafast MSM detectors, wide band gap high-power devices, metallic electromigration and ion-implantation. He has also worked on electroporation in biological cells and related ion-channel transport. He was a visiting scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, is a Senior Member of the IEEE and the author of over 70 international journal publications.
