Biography

 Dr. Pinar Emecen Huja received her dental degree from Hacettepe University, Turkey in 1998. She completed PhD training combined with specialty training in periodontology at Hacettepe University in 2005. Following her graduation, she accepted a visiting faculty position at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry in Department of Periodontology until 2008. She completed a Master’s of Science and a Certificate in Periodontology from Ohio State University in 2011. She was appointed as a full time faculty at University of Kentucky College of Dentistry in Division of Periodontics in 2011. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since May 2012.She is a member of American Academy of Periodontology, International Association of Dental Research and American Dental Education Association. She presented her research at local, national and international meetings.

Research Interest

characterization of periodontal inflammation and host susceptibility markers in periodontal and peri-implant diseases and relations between periodontal and systemic diseases.
