Biography

Professor Nora Donaldson holds a BSc in Mathematics (Universidad del Valle, Colombia), an MSc in Applied Statistics (VPI & State University, USA), a PhD in Medical Statistics (University of Maryland, USA) and Chartered Statistician status awarded by the Royal Statistical Society in 2002. She was the Professor of Biostatistics at the King’s College London Dental Institute during the period Sep-2005 to Oct-2014 and Head of the Clinical Research Statistics Unit at the King's College Hospital NHS Trust in the UK during the period Jan-1999 and Aug-2005. She has served in Research & Ethics committees and in scientific expert panels of the NIHR and the Department of Health in the UK. She has a wide expertise in research projects related to dentistry, medicine, biomedical sciences and education. Her main statistical research interests are in the area of sequential analysis, multilevel modelling and the problems of evaluation of quality of life. She has taught medical statistics for several MSc and BSc programs and provided statistical supervision to many MSc/PhD students internationally. She has been co-investigator of many successful medical research grant applications and does a great deal of statistical consultancy work for different research teams in the international medical community. She has collaborated extensively with teams at Stanford University, American University, Salamanca University (Spain), Universidad del Valle (Colombia) and the MRC, among others.
