Biography

Dr Moufti is currently based at Manchester University (UK). His main area of research is occlusion, TMD and implant loading, as well as Oral Health-related Quality of Life. His work has been published in different peer-reviewed journals and has been recognised by 3 international awards (IADR, ICOT and BSRD). He has established research collaboration with centres in Minnesota, Belgrade, Damascus and UAE, and is reviewer for 4 international journals. His educational role involves teaching research methods, and supervising research projects of the Masters students in Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry.

Dr Moufti is an examiner at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and an invited speaker to the ITI (International Team for Implantology, Switzerland) and to Warwick University (UK).

Dr Moufti received his dental qualification and training in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Damascus. He completed his PhD degree at Newcastle University In 2007, and was appointed an Academic Clinical Fellow in Restorative Dentistry at Newcastle until 2011 when he has received a prestigious scholarship for clinical training in Implantology from the ITI.
