Biography
I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery and Physiology and Pharmacology at Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine, Marshall University. My principal research focus is the investigation contributions of chronic oxidative stress and metabolic imbalance as it pertains to development of obesity and diabetes with associated long-term complications. In addition to my research in basic science I have been actively involved in clinical research and have collaborated with the clinicians at Marshall University Joan Edwards School of Medicine to study biomarkers in identifying diabetic cardiomyopathy, NAFLD and metabolic syndrome. I am an Ad hoc reviewer for several international journals in the area of Pharmacology and experimental therapeutics. I am a member of American Heart Association and American Physiological Society.
Research Interest
Metabolic syndrome, Atherosclerosis, NAFLD, Aging, Pharmacogenomics and kidney function.
