Research Interest

Kiran Dip Gill research interests are molecular mechanisms involved in neuronal death in Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s disease in cell culture and animal models, molecular basis of organophosphate and metal neurotoxicity which includes signal transduction pathways, apoptosis, receptor ligand binding, protein phosphorylation, peripheral markers, NTE isolation and characterization, neurobehavioral studies and Paraoxonase polymorphism. In addition to that her lab is also focusing on primary cell culture of neurons and microglia to understand the molecular targets of neuronal degeneration after exposure to organophosphates and heavy metals. An another area of interest is neuroprotection using various natural antioxidant and mitochondrial drug targeted delivery in vivo and in vitro systems.
