Biography
Since the late 1970s the main research interest has been focused on Human papillomavirus HPV and its different manifestations in the human. The majority of the scientific publications and the three major textbooks are dealing with HPVassociated human pathology. This is the field in which Prof Syrjänen is a recognized world authority.
Research Interest
Other current research interests include colorectal cancer (CRC) which is another main topic of research in our clinic. Included in the list of scientific contributions are also some 70 papers on female breast cancer, which is another main topic of his research interest.
