Biography

Dr. Campbell is a Senior Biomechanical Engineer with CASE Forensics, a Jensen Hughes Company. He has testified as an expert in biomechanics in US state and federal courts. He works on cases including automotive collisions, industrial accidents, workers compensation claims, slip and falls, product liability claims, and sport / recreation accidents. He has testified in cases regarding mechanism of injury, seat belt use and effectiveness, timing of injuries in multiple collision events, differentiating acute traumatic injuries from degenerative conditions, and occupant kinematics. Dr. Campbell started his career in 2001 as a contractor with the Biomechanics group at NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, US Department of Transportation). There he worked on ways to evaluate and predict injuries to the human body including brain, neck, chest, and leg injuries. For his dissertation, he worked on a project funded by the National Science Foundation developing methods to study how anatomical variations in the population affect lumbar spine biomechanics.
