Biography
Dr. Weiss is currently Director of the Partners HealthCare Personalized Medicine. He is responsible for 12 faculty and approximately 100 staff that work in the Centers Core Laboratories, the CLIA-approved Laboratory for Molecular Medicine, and the IT and Education programs across the Partners Health Care System. He is also the co-leader of the Systems Genetics and Genomics Unit in the Channing Division of Network Medicine in the Department of Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
Research Interest
Dr. Weiss’ long-standing research interests have been in the area of environmental and genetic risk factors and natural history of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
He is the principal investigator or co-investigator on a total of six separate NHLBI-funded proposals in the area of the genetics of asthma and COPD.
