Biography
Dr. Ricardo Bentes de Azevedo has a BSc in biomedicine from the Federal University of Pará, Brazil (1985), MSc in science (Cell and Tissue Biology) from the University of São Paulo (1990), PhD in science (Cell and Tissue Biology) from the University of São Paulo (1997) and postdoctorate from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Currently, he is a chair professor at the University of Brasília and the coordinator of the National Institutes of Science and Technology–Nanobiotechnology from the Ministry of Science and Technology, Brazil. He has published more than 150 research articles in various prestigious national and international journals    
Research Interest
Dr. Ricardo’s research interests include morphology, with emphasis on histology and cell biology, biological and biomedical applications of nanomaterials, nanotoxicology, and photodynamic therapy, for the treatment of oral, skin, breast and lung cancer, diseases caused by microorganisms, and environmental pollution.
