Biography
Monika Schfer-Korting is a Full Professor of Pharmacology at the Institute of Pharmacy, Freie Universität Berlin, Germany. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology, University of Munich with Prof. Dr. Technical M. Reiter. She has obtained her Ph.D. from Goethe University in Frankfurt. She is the Vice-President of the Freie Universität Berlin (Biosciences and Research). Monica’s research focuses on improving the treatment of skin disorders by testing potential new drugs with effects on the skin, elucidation of the molecular mechanisms of action of known and novel active ingredients, study the uptake and metabolism of such substances in human skin, but also by means of two- and three-dimensional skin models and models of skin diseases and an increase in the benefit / risk ratio means particulate carrier systems. Schäfer-Korting is a co-author of the text book on pharmacology and toxicology named "Mutschler. Arzneimittelwirkungen (Drug Actions)", whose most recent 8th edition was published in 2001. She has published many research articles in various prestigious scientific journals.
