Biography
Dr. Manfred Schmidt is a Full Professor for Physical Chemistry at the University of Mainz, Germany. He is the Executive Head of the Institute of Physical Chemistry at University of Mainz. Previously he worked as an Associate (C3) Professor of Macromolecular Chemistry at the University of Bayreuth. He is the Chairman of the committee for the "Hermann Staudinger Award", granted by the German Chemical Society (GDCh), Director of the BMBF-Center "Multifunctional Materials and Miniaturized Devices", Director of the DFG Research center ("Sonderforschungsbereich"), "From Single Molecules to Nanostructured Materials", Associate Editor for Macromolecules, Member of the Scientific Advisory Board (Wiss. Beirat) of the Max-Planck Institute for Polymer Science, Mainz,Germany. Dr. Manfred has published many research articles based on research interest in various national and international journals.
Research Interest
Dr. Manfred's research interests include synthesis and supramolecular chemistry of polymers, polymer characterization, scattering techniques, polyelectrolytes, shape persistent macromolecules, organic/inorganic composites, synthetic/biological hybrid structures.
