Biography
Dr Kinda Khalaf held faculty appointments in Engineering and Medicine at the University of Miami (USA), the American University of Beirut (Lebanon), where she held the first joint appointment between the faculties of Engineering and Medicine, and the American University of Sharjah (UAE). She has been awarded the LAMME Scholarship, the Woman of Engineering Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement multiple times, the Presidential Fellowship Award, the prestigious National Merit Scholar, the University of Miami College of Engineering Teaching Award, and the Khalifa University Faculty Excellence award.
Research Interest
My main research interests center on the study of the human neuromusculoskeletal system, particularly focusing on quantitative assessment of human movement and performance, biomechanical modeling, and movement simulation and control.. Teaching interests encompass biomechanics, orthopedic biomechanics, computational biomechanics, soft and hard tissue biomaterials, biological systems modeling, robotics, biomedical devices, technologies, and mechanical design.
