Biography
Gulam Rusul joined the Food Technology Program, School of Industrial Technology on 15th March, 2006. Prior to coming to USM, He was a Professor of Food Microbiology and Safety at Faculty of Food Science & Technology (FFST), University Putra Malaysia (UPM). HE began his academic career at FFST in 1979. He was trained as a Veterinarian and his interest in Food Safety lead me to pursue his Masters in Food Microbiology at University of Reading, UK, in 1978. He obtained his Ph.D in Food Safety in 1987 from University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA. His Ph.D thesis was the effect of sub-inhibitory concentrations of organic acids on aflatoxin production by Asperigillus parasiticus.
