Loreto is serving as an editorial member and reviewer of several international reputed journals. Loreto successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities. Loreto has authored of many research articles/books related to Genetics.

Research Interest

Study of the molecular and genetic mechanisms underlying the processes of immunogenetics and neurodegenerative and neoplastic etiology. In particular: a) determination and characterization of potential biochemical markers and clinical indices of monitoring in 'onset and evolution of neuro / diseases of the immune b) study of the role of molecules of the immune processes of neurodegeneration and aging; c) identification of possible correlations between gene polymorphisms and cognitive disorders and / or neurological disease; d) occurs at the clinical level of the role of genetic polymorphisms (HLA, MICA, KIR, HLA-G, cytokines) in the onset / prevention of complications after transplant, in susceptibility to autoimmune diseases, cancer and allergies; e) comparing the allele and genotype frequencies MICA, TNF-alpha and HLA-G in North Africa with the European and analyze potential associations loci MICA, TNF-a in autoimmune diseases.
