Biography
Dr AK Kumaraguru is a senior professor at Department of Marine and Coastal Studies, Madurai Kamaraj University, India. He has been appointed as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Manomaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli. Dr Kumaraguru is the director of Centre for Marine and Coastal Studies, Madurai, School of Energy, Madurai Kamaraj University. The 58-year-old professor is an expert in coastal studies and has worked extensively on the endangered coral reefs in the Gulf of Mannar and is a recipient of many awards, including the Tamil Nadu Scientist Award.
