Biography
Dr. Ayesh finished his PhD in Physics from the University of Canterbury in 2007. He is currently an associate professor at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). Dr. Ayesh has 58 publications in refereed international journals and conferences, in addition to many papers under consideration for publication. He is the leader of the nanocluster devices group at UAEU. The group consists of Dr. Ayesh (leader), few faculty members at UAEU, graduate students, in addition to many students and research assistants working within the group. He established the Nanocluster Devices research lab at UAEU in 2008/2009.
Research Interest
The lab contains many research systems that are used for sample fabrication and characterization.
Dr. Ayesh research focuses on:
1) Studying the properties of nanometer-scale particles (nanoclusters), and developing ways of building nano-electronic devices from these nanoclusters such gas sensors and solar cells.
2) Investigation of the organic memory device performance using nanoclusters and carbon nanotubes as charge storage elements.
3) Development and in vitro assessment of bone-like calcium phosphate coatings on biocompatible alloys.
4) Design and evaluation of magnetic nanoparticles for drug delivery applications.
