Biography
Prof. Dr. Adrián LLerena has received his PhD in Medicine and Surgery (Clinical Pharmacology/ Pharmacogenetics) in the University of Extremadura, Spain in 1988 prior his Post Doc in Clinical Pharmacogenetics at Karolinska Institute Department of Clinical Pharmacology (1989-1992). Currently, he is working as Director of Clinical Research Center in Extremadura University Hospital and Medical School. He has successfully completed his Administrative responsibilities as Vicedean of the Faculty of Medicine, Rectorate Office for Cooperation Development, and currently is a member of Pharmacogenomics Working Parthy at European Medicines Agency EMA for second term (2014-), he is also coordinator and founder of the Iberoamerican Network of Pharmacogenetics RIBEF www.ribef.com. His research has included Clinical Pharmacogenetics, Psychopharmacology. Based on this research and fellowship training he has received several awards and honors, such as Latinoamerican Association of National Societies of Pharmacology ALF Award for personal contribution to the development of Pharmacogenomics in Latinamerica (Havana LATINFARMA 2013). He is serving as an editorial member of several reputed journals like The Pharmacogenomics Journal, Pharmacogenomics, etc & expert Reviewers for more thatn 20 journals like Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, British Journal of Clinical Pharmacology. He has authored more than 150 papers (33 h index). He is Vicepresident of the Spanish Society of Clinical Pharmacology, Vicepresident of the Spanish Society of Pharmacogenetics and Pharmacogenmics, Founder and former Vicepresident of European Society of Pharmacogenetics and Theranostics (ESPT).
